David W. Carrington, M.D. completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA and received his M.D. from Creighton University Medical School in 1992. He completed his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Carrington has worked at forensic hospitals in Louisiana and Illinois, evaluating and treating NGRI acquittees and patients adjudicated incompetent to stand trial. Currently

Dr. Carrington is the Director of Psychiatry at Cermak Health Services of the Cook County Jail - the largest single site jail in the United States and the largest psychiatric facility in Illinois.

He was the Acting Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program at the Isaac Ray Center and is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Rush Medical College.

Dr. Carrington is board certified in both general and forensic psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

He is experienced in the assessment of civil and criminal competency, psychiatric disability, personal injury, and fitness for duties issues.
