Daniel Loiterstein, M.D. is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.  He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Missouri. 

He completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center from 1998 to 2003.  In 2003 he was named Chief Resident.Subsequently, Dr. Loiterstein completed a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California - Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute. 

Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center.  He maintains a clinical practice specializing in older adults. 

In 2005 he was awarded a Geriatric Academic Career Award from the Health Resources and Services Administration to conduct clinical research and develop opportunities for medical education in geriatric medicine and psychiatry.
