Lisa A. Rone, M.D. is a board certified psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine.

She received her M.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1991 and completed her residency in psychiatry at Northwestern in 1995. 

After residency, she ran a teaching team on the inpatient psychiatric unit at the VA Lakeside Hospital and started a private practice of general adult psychiatry.  She went on to become the co-director of the outpatient mental health clinic there. 

In 1997, Dr. Rone became the assistant medical director of the Psychopharmacology Clinical and Research Center at Evanston Hospital and was responsible for administering various clinical trials. 

She is active in teaching psychiatry residents, obstetrics and gynecology residents and first year medical students at Northwestern's medical school.  She has been a board examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is currently serving as a Councilor of the Illinois Psychiatric Society. 

She specializes in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders in women and psychopharmacology of anxiety and affective disorders, particularly during pregnancy and in the postpartum period, and in hormonal influences on psychiatric illness. 

She was a member of the National Expert Consensus Panel for the treatment of depressive disorders in women which was published in March, 2001.
